Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe three weeks of term have already passed! The pupils have been working very hard and behaviour and appearance has been mostly excellent.
Parents’ Evening
We are holding our New Parents’ Evening on Tuesday 25th September at 7.00pm. Please don’t forget the invitation is open to all parents – new and existing – and is a great opportunity for us to welcome new families to our community. I do hope you will join the staff for a glass of wine and a friendly chat! Please let the Office know if you are planning to attend.
On 4th October, there will be formal Parents’ Evenings for S11 and all Primary pupils. This is your opportunity to meet individual members of staff and discuss your child’s progress in detail. At 6.00pm, I shall be giving a short talk on Post 16 opportunities for our S11 pupils. Appointments will begin at 6.30pm with all staff in the Hall, for your convenience.
Havering Music Concerts
We shall be welcoming a group of Havering Music School teachers on Tuesday 25th September to give a percussion concert. I am sure it will be an enjoyable and informative afternoon.
Theatre Trip
Mr. Lowey and I are taking my GCSE drama pupils to the Queens Theatre, Hornchurch on Tuesday 2nd October to see the classic Goldoni comedy ‘The Servant of Two Masters’. Please ensure the Office has received payment for this visit by Monday, 24th September.
Bulb Planting
Our Primary children have been invited by the Mayor of Havering – Georgina Galpin to join her in planting bulbs for the Borough on 5th October. The children are looking forward to an exciting day.
Champion!
Sincere congratulations to Chantelle Halford (Year 5) who has become the Essex Champion for Gymnastics in her age group. We will need to watch for Chantelle in the 2016 Olympics! Well done.
GCSE Coursework
Please take careful note of any GCSE coursework deadlines set by staff. The pupils have all been given clear instructions as to what is expected of them and the relevant deadlines. I must point out that late or insufficient coursework will have serious repercussions on GCSE entries – we cannot enter pupils who have not produced the requisite work. Please contact me or Mr. Lowey, should you have any queries.
Green Fingers?
If any parents have green fingers and could spare any time, we would be most grateful for any help in keeping the playground planted areas tidy. Please contact the Office if you feel you could be of help. Thank you.
