Walk to school week began today (Monday 1st October) and our pupils were offered the opportunity to walk at least part of their journey into school.  Pupils and staff converged at a meeting point and walked together down Park Lane to arrive at school in plenty of time. 

There are stickers and certificates for children walking and in educational terms, it will help to raise awareness about environmental issues. 

Almost 50% of our Primary children turned up to take part. 

Mr Walsh (J5 & 6 Class Teacher) was delighted with the turn out and hopes this will encourage even more pupils to take part for the rest of the week.  "If we can achieve this in rainy weather, just think what we can do on a dry day!"
