Our Junior children recently enjoyed an afternoon of planting trees in Theydon Bois, with the Woodland Trust.  They were met by Jan and her team who showed the children some of the ways that tree planting is good for the environment. 

Everyone was given a free Woodland Trust hat (even Miss Johnson & Mr Walsh!) and they were very useful as it was so cold! 

They went on a short nature walk looking at different bird and bat boxes and then had to cover their eyes and see what it's like for a bat that can be guided only by sound!

Pupils then entered a huge field where they planted saplings that will one day be part of a forest.
