Infant Curriculum
THE FOUNDATION STAGE AND KEY STAGE 1
The Infant Department caters for children in Reception and Years 1 and 2.
The curriculum is based on National Guidelines for Key Stage 1 and all pupils in Year 2 take their Key Stage 1 tests in May.
THE CURRICULUM
The Reception curriculum is based on the six areas of learning – Personal and Social Development, Language and Literacy, Maths, Physical and Creative Development, and Knowledge and Understanding of the World.
The curriculum in the Infant Department is more subject based and offers a broader range. The subjects include:

The core subjects of English and Maths are taught daily and great emphasis is placed on the importance of reading, spelling, handwriting, number bonds and tables.
The children have homework each night which always includes reading, as well as a range of other tasks.
